Cherry County Democratic Party Jamboree

The Cherry County Democrats held a Democratic Party Jamboree in Valentine over the weekend of August 8-9. Democrats from around the 3rd CD gathered to socialize, hear from some of their party representatives, enjoy some good food and fun, and participate in a couple of workshops. Highlight of the event was a visit by Scott Kleeb, Nebraska's Democratic candidate for the United States Senate.

Speakers included Jim 'Doc' Moore, the new NDP Chair of Chairs; Brian Osborn, Associate Chair of the 3rd CD; Marion Bahensky, President of the Nebraska Democratic Women; and Jerry Reynoldson, former Senatorial Aide to Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, of Nevada.

Workshops were held on writing effective letters to editors and how to create a web page for your county.

Scott Kleeb was on hand Saturday afternoon to address the gathering. His comments ranged from the issues of health care and energy to how his campaign was coming along. Scott answered a variety of questions from those in attendance. Bud Pettigrew, Cherry County Chair, presented Scott with a cake in honor of his upcoming birthday.
