Jane Erdenberger - Candidate for National Committeewoman

I really applaud the energy and progress 3rd CDO has made. It was a great opportunity for me to meet lots of the people I have been "talking with" by email -- and to tell them in person what a great job they are doing. (Speaking of which, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to post a "thank you" on your blog. What do I need to do? Or should I send it to you to post?)

*** Just email it to me, Daisy Fay, by clicking on my email link over there on the right under "Welcome," and I'll put it on there. ***

In connection with running for the position of National Committeewoman for the Nebraska Democratic Party, much as I might like to, I cannot make it to every County Convention to meet and greet all of the potential delegates to the State Convention, but I would like to ask them to vote for me when they have the chance.

Toward that end, I would really appreciate it if you would share this message with the attendees at the Phelps County Convention Sunday afternoon @ 3:00. You might even direct them to my “blog” for more information:

I grew up in Omaha and was a tax and securities lawyer with the state’s largest law firm (Kutak Rock) for 22 years while raising my family (2 daughters; Christian graduated from UN-L and is now getting her Master’s Degree from Columbia University and Eleanor will graduate from UN-L in December). At the same time, I worked with my husband, Mark Hoeger, as he served as Executive Director of the Omaha Children’s Theater (we raised $8million for its renovation) and ran for two political offices.

While practicing law, I returned to school to get my teaching certificate and resigned from Kutak Rock in 2001 to teach social studies at Omaha North High Magnet School . I am a community activist for education and civil rights and a board member of the Omaha Education Association. I also serve on the board of the Nebraska Educational Finance Authority (issuing bonds to finance improvements at colleges and universities throughout the State).

I want to bring my organizational and fundraising skills -- and unbounded energy -- to the table as National Committeewoman for the Nebraska Democratic Party.

I am Jane Erdenberger and I approved this message J

Thank you very much – I look forward to seeing you in Fremont June 20 and 21.

I would like to thank the 3rd CDO folks who attended the events in North Platte this weekend for making me and my daughters feel so welcome. We had a wonderful time and the hospitality was invigorating. The conversations I had not only confirmed what I already knew about Nebraskans and Democrats -- but also opened my eyes to the expectations of Democrats in the 3rd Congressional District. I hope I have a chance (as your next National Committeewoman!) to work with all of you the next four years to address those expectations and increase the number of Democrats in your region -- and the entire State of Nebraska. Have fun at your county conventions -- we will see you in Fremont.
